GILL
In 1870 Willard S. Gill,
his wife and four children came from Massachusetts
to Michigan and settled on the farm south of Douglas known as the R. M. Moore farm, Mrs. Moore being a
sister of Mr. Gill. The children were George, Charles, Sarah and Warren;
Charles and Sarah. Mrs. Frank Kirby, being the only
survivors.
Mr. Gill spent the remainder
of his life in Douglas, interested in all the
town's activities, his time being spent in farming and carpentering. He was a
charter member of Dutcher Lodge F. & A. M. from
which he had been granted a life membership.
Mrs. Gill was taken in
death in 1903 and Mr. Gill in 1918 having rounded out ninety years of life, in
which he was a man of exemplary habits and refinement.
